OEM COMPONENT FOR WOBBLE TRACKER

In a Nutshell

The goal was to develop an industry-standard beam deflection system for laser welding. For this purpose we developed a single axis scan head that sets the laser beam into a fast pendulum motion (wobbling).

The optimized mirror shape allows a high wobbling frequency of over 500 Hz even with an aperture of 48 mm. A vision system detects the seam position and direction (tracking). The seam track is overlayed with the wobble motion of the laser beam which allows a variable "beam width" and optimization of the welding seam geometry.

The control signal for the wobble motion is generated by the OEM-component itself. Amplitude and center position of the wobble motion are given by 2 external analog signals.
